CHALLENGE DETAILS: Safety Seminars raise awareness of the reality that exists. 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 7 boys will be sexually victimized by the age of 18! The number of victims is staggering, but the great news is that we can make a dramatic impact. Education is the key. So the CRN program focuses on teaching parents about the rewards of building confident children, teaching kids about boundaries and how to react when one is crossed. We explain some of the lures predators utilize and provide specific actions that kids can take to help them make better decisions when faced with a potentially dangerous situation. Child Rescue Network has the structure in place to be able to provide this safety program around the country. The challenge is to generate the funding to support the program to be able to provide it free of charge to parents nationwide. It's a perfect fit for a corporate sponsor, if there was a successful strategy in place to attract one.
ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW: Child Rescue Network is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit missing and victimized children’s organization dedicated to dramatically lowering the number of children abused by sexual predators. Our main focus is to raise awareness and to educate parents on specific actions they can take to build confidence and empower their children, to help them recognize potentially dangerous situations and how to react if the need arises. Over the last 6 years, the results of the CRN Safety Seminar have been phenomenal. 96% of the attending parents have expressed in a follow up survey that because of what they learned through CRN they changed the way they protect their kids.
